Benin – Refugee arrivals from Togo (DG ECHO, RFI) (ECHO Daily Flash of 28 February 2023)

General

Attacks by non-state armed groups on civil population in Northern Togo have led to about one thousand people seeking refuge in Northern Benin. This is the first time that the spill-over of the Central Sahel crisis leads to displacement between Coastal countries. The displaced people are currently being hosted in local communities. DG ECHO has operations in eight countries in West and Central Africa and monitors closely the situation in the coastal countries of the region.
