Bishop Ugorji Appointed New Archbishop Of Owerri Catholic Diocese, To Succeed Archbishop Obinna

The Bishop of Umuahia Catholic Diocese, the Most Reverend Lucius Ugorji has been appointed as the new Archbishop of Owerri Catholic Diocese and remains the Apostolic Administrator for Ahiara Diocese. The appointment, which was disclosed by the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, Antonio Filipazzi, on behalf of Pope Francis, at the ongoing Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria at Abuja, also said that Bishop Ugorji, will take over after the retirement of Archbishop Obinna.
