President of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) Farouk Bouasker is taking part in the 4th meeting of Arab electoral bodies, which began on Monday at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, Egypt.
The event is organised by the Arab League in collaboration with the United Nations and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), under the theme «media and elections,» according to a press release from the ISIE.
The meeting will continue until June 14, with the participation of presidents of Arab electoral bodies and representatives of regional and international organisations involved in electoral affairs.
Bouasker made a presentation on the organisation of the July 25, 2022 Referendum and the legislative elections held over two rounds in 2022.
He spoke of the ISIE’s prerogatives to monitor election campaigns, particularly with regard to the role of the media during this phase of the elections.
