Create impactful, sustainable and socially responsible companies to guarantee sustainable development and social well-being, such is the goal of the 5th edition of the Convergences 3Zero 2023 Tunisia Forum (Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, Zero Poverty), organised on Monday at the Tunis City of Culture.
This edition of the forum, organised this year under the theme “Sustainability and social well-being at the core of development,” targets all those who are convinced of the importance of sustainable development in a world faced with huge climatic, environmental and societal challenges, officer in charge of international development at Convergences Nassim Slimani told TAP on the sidelines of the event.
“This forum, in which students, entrepreneurs and experts are taking part, will examine ways of reducing poverty in Tunisia and will study the challenges and solutions for good waste management,” he explained.
The agenda of the event includes round tables, panels and conferences focusing on the importance of comb
ining environmental, economic and societal issues.
During the forum, “social entrepreneurs will be exhibiting their products and publicising their impactful social projects as part of the Solutions Village, which is an integral part of the event,” added Slimani.
This 5th edition will focus on 3 key themes, namely “building sustainable ecosystems,” “climate and environment and poverty” and “inequalities and inclusion,”said for his part nationall coordinator of the forum Anis Boufrikha.
he pointed out that since its launch in Tunisia in 2018, Convergences has managed to set up some 30 clubs called “3Zero Campus Clubs” in various Tunisian universities.
“The aim is to raise awareness among young people, who are the future entrepreneurs and decision-makers, of the importance of creating sustainable projects to achieve development and reduce poverty, inequality and injustice,” he underlined.
Launched in 2008, Convergences is a reflection, mobilisation and advocacy platform. Convergences promotes the Sustainabl
e Development Goals (SDGs) and the fight against poverty, exclusion and climate change in both developed and developing countries. Composed of more than 300 partner organisations from all sectors, the association acts to stimulate reflection and action, disseminate good practices and promote the co-construction of high impact and innovative partnerships.
Convergences works in all areas likely to have a decisive effect in favor of its objectives: sustainable development, international solidarity for development, solidarity and inclusive finance, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), social entrepreneurship, social and solidarity economy and new technologies for development.
