Tunis: The open-air theatre in Hammamet celebrated a solemn moment on the evening of July 5-6, 2024, with an exceptional theatrical return to its roots at the opening of a new edition of the Hammamet International Festival (FIH).

Welcoming guests from all walks of life and loyal festival-goers, the Hammamet International Festival blew out its 60th candle.

The opening was graced by an official presence befitting the occasion, notably that of acting Minister for Cultural Affairs Moncef Boukthir, as well as a number of leading figures on the cultural and artistic scene, notably renowned actress Mouna Noureddine, who played the role of Emilia in the premiere of Aly Ben Ayed’s ‘Othello’ on July 31 and August 1, 1964.

As a guest this time at this place of remembrance and reunion, Mouna Noureddine was honoured on stage last night during the special tribute paid to her by the festival which, true to its vocation, has tried since its inception to hold a special place for Tunisian artists while at the same time cele
brating the 4th art.
