Fire at “Zitouna” Bank headquarters: Investigation initiated

A judicial investigation was opened after the fire that ravaged, Wednesday afternoon, the headquarters of the Zitouna Bank in the area of Kram, announced Mohamed Zitouna, spokesman for the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Tunis. The Regional Directorate of Criminal Affairs has taken up this case. An investigation will be conducted to determine the causes and circumstances of this fire, he said. A huge fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon at the headquarters of the “Zitouna” bank, located in the neighbourhood of El Kram, a northern suburb of Tunis, Moez Tria, spokesman for the National Office of Civil Protection, told TAP. Five fire trucks, an auto ladder and two ambulances were dispatched to the scene to control the fires, he added. Tria said that according to preliminary data from the civil protection units, the fire started in the refreshment room on the ground floor of the building.
