Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, and Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Musalia Mudavadi, reviewed the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them in the light of bilateral events.
They stressed the importance of further consultation and coordination between the two countries and in regional and international fora to address current challenges on the continent and internationally.
During their meeting on Thursday, in the framework of their participation in the 44th session of the Executive Council of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the two ministers also discussed ways to further promote economic and trade cooperation between Tunisia and Kenya.
They also stressed the importance of working to create jobs for young people and of taking advantage of the opportunities available at continental level, in particular the benefits of the two countries’ membership of the African Continental Free Trade
Area, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting also addressed the issue of migration. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nabil Ammar, stressed Tunisia’s attachment to the treatment of irregular migrants in accordance with its national legislation and international commitments, pointing out that Tunisia categorically refuses to be any one’s guard.
