ILO and BTS sign funding agreement to create 137 social and solidarity companies

A funding agreement intended for the creation of 137 social and solidarity companies with a budget of 2.6 million dinars was signed, on Tuesday, between the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS). The agreement was signed on the sidelines of a meeting held at the initiative of the ILO, in cooperation with the Economy and Planning Ministry, and the European Commission, to introduce the new «Social Innovation Fund (SIF)» programme, developed as part of the “Jeun’Ess” project. With a budget of around pound 4.4 million (the equivalent of 14.7 million dinars), mobilized by the European Union, the “Social Innovation Fund” aims to promote the social and solidarity economy so as to create decent job opportunities for young people in a number of governorates across Tunisia. The meeting was attended by Young people with project ideas, selected as part of the «Jeun’Ess» programme, in the governorates of Gabès, Kébili, Kairouan, Sidi Bouzid, Kasserine, Jendouba and Kef.
