The talks, attended by senior Tunisian and Algerian officials, highlighted the strong relations between the two nations and their shared history, according to a statement from the ministry.

Emphasis was also placed on the need to work together to implement development projects in the border governorates and to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism, organised crime and irregular migration.

Minister Feki is taking an active part in the first meeting of the Joint Commission for the development and upgrading of border regions, which began on Monday and will continue until Tuesday, in the presence of the governors of the Tunisian and Algerian border regions.
