Interior Minister received by Algerian Prime Minister in Algiers

Interior Minister Kamel Feki was received on Tuesday by Algerian Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui during his visit to Algiers for the first meeting of the joint committee for the development and promotion of the Tunisian-Algerian border region.

During the meeting, Feki and Larboui stressed the importance of a shared political consensus on regional and international issues.

They praised the strong bonds of brotherhood and solidarity that unite the two countries and peoples, in recognition of the shared will of the Tunisian and Algerian Presidents.

The meeting, which was also attended by Brahim Merad, the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Regional Planning, provided an opportunity to review the recommendations of the first meeting of the Joint Commission for the Development and Promotion of the Tunisian-Algerian Border Regions.

The two parties stressed the need to put these recommendations into practice in order to develop bilateral cooperation, particularly in the common border regions, with a
view to establishing effective and lasting cooperation between the two countries. The aim is also to strengthen bilateral security cooperation in the interests of both countries, according to a press release from the Ministry.

The Interior Minister also visited the Algerian Ministry of Interior’s Department of Secure Documents. He was accompanied by the Director General of the Border and Aliens Police, the Director General of External Relations and International Cooperation and the Tunisian Ambassador to Algeria.

The Minister of the Interior’s visit to Algiers is part of strengthening bilateral security cooperation between the two countries.
