Renowned middle-distance runner Timothy Cheruyot has said there is a need to nurture young people’s talents in the athletics industry to succeed the current superstars, who have earned a name around the world, when their imminent retirement time comes.
Hailing from Singorwet in Bomet County, Cheruyot remains deeply connected to his roots, understanding the importance of giving back to his community.
In a recent event at Singorwet Secondary School, where he was launching a newly constructed assortment of buildings, the marathoner emphasized the significance of nurturing young talents and dreams at an early age.
‘We have discovered that there are students with athletics talents in our schools. I have brought my manager to acknowledge that these students have the potential to become great athletes. Together with the school principals and the sports teachers, we will ensure that these students have the opportunity to train and pursue their dreams,’ he said.
