Manouba: Agreement on project to build a surface water treatment complex in Béjaoua signed

The agreement on the project to build a surface water treatment plant in Bejaoua, (Governorate of Manouba, northwest of the capital Tunis) was signed, on Monday, between the National Water Exploitation and Distribution Company (SONEDE) and the Indian company VA Tech Wabag.

The agreement, which was signed at SONEDE headquarters, invloves the design, supply, construction and commissioning of a drinking water station in Béjaoua.

The station, whose cost amounts to 190 million dinars, is part of the programme to strengthen the drinking water supply for greater Tunis and the financial port of Hessyene.

The Béjaoua surface water treatment plant with a nominal capacity of 4 m3/s and which can reach a capacity of 5 m3/s, will be carried out in co-financing between the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the French Agency of Development (AFD).

VA Tech Wabag is an Indian company specializing in desalination and water treatment for municipalities and industries. The company is based in Chennai, India.
