The National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Arab Network for Early Childhood Development (ANECD) and Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD), to enhance joint action in the early childhood field, to keep pace with developments and benefit from the key modern scientific studies for child development and care.
The agreement was signed by NCFA Secretary-General, Mohammad Miqdadi, ACCD Secretary-General, Hassan Bilawi, and ANECD General Coordinator, Ghassan Issa.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Miqdadi said the memo culminated joint partnership following years of action on early childhood issues, adding that Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision gave importance to the early childhood sector aimed to promote Jordan’s various sectors.
NCFA, he noted, works at the level of strategic planning and development of policies and programs, which suit nature of the Jordanian family.
Based on this role and under the MoU, he noted joint work is needed to expand production of scientific research on childhood development areas, which would help develop and amend plans and policies to ensure progress in this area.
For his part, Bilawi said this cooperation reflects ACCD’s policy to support and build partnerships, gain advocacy, conduct research and organize training programs on the early childhood areas.
Meanwhile, Issa said ANECD sought to contact and partner with regional organizations, experts, academics and authorities concerned with childhood issues to build a “broad” regional network that pushes all efforts to ensuring children happiness in Arab countries.
Issa added that the memo reflects this goal, especially that children now need all joint efforts to serve their issues.
