The number of tourist arrivals in Monastir from early January 2023 to last December 20 grew 19.6% in comparison with the same period in 2022, totalling 521,830.
The number of bednights, Regional Tourism Commissioner Faouez Ben Halima further told TAP, rose 41.1%, reaching 2,572,000.
The number of local tourists exceeded foreign visitors from France, Germany, Algeria, or UK.
Figures also show a 90% rise in the number of arrivals in comparison with 2019. The number of bednights followed suit, growing 73%.
