President of the Republic Kaïs Saïed accused some sides, without naming them, of appropriating the Tunisian people’s achievements and contributing to the worsening of the situation in the country.

On a visit to Kasserine on Wednesday night, where he visited the headquarters of the National Cellulose and Esparto Paper Company (SNCPA), the Head of State pointed out that “those who claim to hold the keys to national salvation, including leaders of the Salvation Front, are accused of having stolen the people’s riches.”

“The role of the judiciary in prosecuting individuals involved in corruption is no longer in question,” said the Head of State, calling for the enforcement of de facto justice against all offenders.

“All the corruption cases have been proven, with supporting evidence,” he added.

In a video footage posted at dawn on Thursday, Saïed promised to clean up the “SNCPA” of corruption, considering that communtarian companies are the best solution.

Communitarian companies, he considered, are the best
way to collect the quantities of esparto grass harvested and sell them directly, without having to go through speculators and “illicit” channels.

President Saïed further undertook to take measures as soon as possible to ensure that the activities of State institutions and establishments resume as normal.

“The State will never renounce its institutions,” the Head of State pointed out, promising to wage a merciless war against lobbies and speculators.
