President Kais Saied received an invitation from President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to participate in the Global Climate Action Summit on December 1 and 2, 2023 in the UAE. The invitation was handed over to him by UAE ambassador in Tunis, Eman Ahmed Al Salami at a meeting at the Palace of Carthage Wednesday. The event will mark the official launch of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in the United Arab Emirates, the Presidency said in a statement. Saied welcomed the invitation and conveyed to the UAE leadership Tunisia’s keenness to actively contribute to the success of this event. The 28 Conference of the Parties is all the more important in achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement, as it will include the first global assessment of nationally determined contributions and set subsequent contributions.
