Saied and Hachani discuss results of latest African Summit in Addis Ababa

President Kais Saied, had a meeting, on Monday afternoon, at Carthage Palace, with Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani, who briefed him about the results of Tunisia’s participation in the African Summit, held from February 17 to 18 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

During the Summit, Tunisia focused on ways to boost cooperation between African countries as well as reduce poverty rates and wars on the continent, reads a statement of the Presidency of the Republic.

The meeting also shed light on the government’s activities and the major issues to be discussed in the upcoming cabinet meeting. The Head of State stressed the need to develop new legislation that would put an end to the so-called «subcontracting labor,» which he says is «a form of slavery.»

«These types of contracts leave no hope for those seeking to secure a better future,» he pointed out, adding that they are «unfair» while «social peace can only be achieved through justice and fairness.»
