Second Arab Decade of Disabled Persons: PM meets with social affairs ministers, senior participants

Premier Ahmed Hachani met Sunday in La Kasbah with Arab social Affairs ministers, representatives of Arab and regional organisations and UN agencies and heads of delegations participating in the high-level forum on the Second Arab Decade of Disabled Persons 2023-2032.

The event is held in Tunisia on October 1-5 under the high auspices of the President of the Republic. it comes to crown the efforts of Arab countries under the agies of the Arab League (the SG’s initiative) to support policies, programmes and mechanisms put in place for people with disabilities

It will also serve as a policy framework for Arab countries in the protection, care and rehabilitation of people with disabilities as well as as their integration in economic and social life, pursuant to the principle of equal opportunities.

Seventeen main objctives are identified for the decade, mainly in relation to legislation, policies, social services, health and education, the right to independent living and participation in political life as well as cultural and sports activities.
