For the occasion, the Rose Coeur Association, offered a lot consisting of food, shoes, soaps and school supplies to the residents of the orphanage “the City of Hope” of Tokan.
The children thanked the delegation with songs and many joys. “This gesture, it’s just a first contact, we thank the leaders of this center for what they do for these children, really, they are great especially the director, Ms. Kiki, she told us very stories. moving, his anecdote on the last abandoned child moved me to tears and it’s time for me to invite my Beninese brothers and sisters to offer even if it’s just the money from a bottle of beer to her children, if each Beninese could make a gesture towards these children, we will contribute significantly to reducing the sorrow of these abandoned or orphaned children ”, testified Rose Alabi.
With this action, the Rose Coeur association has just opened the ball for end-of-year philanthropists in Benin. Against gifts, children know how to sing, smile and give joy to visitors. “We have enough to eat for a while,” said Ezechiel, one of the residents.
The Cité d’Espoir orphanage of the Bergerie de Dieu NGO is located in Tokan, in the Togba district, in the municipality of Abomey-Calavi, 25 minutes from Cotonou. This orphanage welcomes orphans and abandoned children from 0 to 5 years old. Children in a difficult situation taken in by the NGO are then interned in the orphanage until the age of 18. For the end of the year 2021, there are 73 residents in the city, 40 boys and 33 girls.
For Ms. Kiki the visit of the “Rose Coeur” Association is a moment of happiness, “The particularity of the Rose Coeur Association is that it goes beyond donations, there is also moral support through advice and games with the children, note that the children did not want to let the visitors go, ”declared the director.
For Laetitia Inouga, a Congolese Benino member of the Rose Coeur association, this Friday is unforgettable: “I left the children with a song that they taught me and that I will often listen to. Rouhaya, a member of the association, who came from Dakar, said with tears in her eyes that she will do everything to support poor children. “The joy and the gratitude of the children towards the Rose Coeur association, for the little that we have given them pushes to action”, declared Rachelle, a French of Beninese Togolese origin who came to Benin for the first time. times.
Note that the Rose Coeur Association has promised to return by February for other donations for the benefit of several Beninese associations.
