Tunis II: 170 candidates running for December 24 local elections

Over 170 candidates from the imadats of the independent regional body for elections (IRIE) of Tunis 2 will running for the local elections scheduled for December 24.

148 out of 170 candidates, 148 candidates will be concerned by the direct ballot and will therefore have to launch their electoral campaign on Saturday December 2, while the rest, i.e. 22 candidates with reduced mobility, will take part in the ballot by draw.

In a statement to TAP on Saturday, the regional director of the electoral body, the local councils of Tunisia II, Hosni Sahbani affirmed that the local councils of Tunis II will include electoral constituencies each covering 10 delegations.

According to a latest and recent update of the region’s electoral register, the electoral district of Tunis II currently has 433,216 voters and 108 polling stations.

The electoral district includes Tunisia II, the delegations of cité Tahrir, Omrane, Omrane supérieur, Kram, Marsa, Menzah, Bardo, Goulette, cité al-Khadra and Carthage.
