Tunisia, France ink cooperation agreement in trade register field

General

A cooperation agreement in the trade register field was inked in Paris between the National Business Register (RNE) and the French National Council of Commercial Court Clerks and the Infogreffe. The agreement will help “step up work on sharing information and expertise on legislative developments, business and technical know-how, and the methods used to keep up legal registers,” reads a joint press release issued on Tuesday. The agreement will further provide a framework for “forward-looking” exchanges on common issues related to transparency in business and fight against fraud, money laundering and terrorism financing, the same source added. The agreement also aims to jointly initiate discussions with legal, judicial, professional and academic sectors on keeping legal publicity registers and supporting publications in this field. The French National Council of Commercial Court Clerks had previously approved its support to the RNE in setting up its register of beneficial owners. The three organisations worked together to create the Alliance Francophone des Registres du Commerce (AFREC), which now counts over 20 members.
