Two suspects, Ndamené Kenné Derrick alias Arafat and his brother Noubissi Tiodong Hyppolite, 22 years old each, were presented to the press bymembers of the Batcham Gendarmerie for allegedly killing Mr Noutsa Maurice, 58 year-old father of 8, early Monday September 9, 2024 in Bamefouock, a vicinity in Batcham subdivision of the West.
According to security sources, the suspects reportedly entered the house, held Mr Noutsa hostage and asked for ransom from his daughter. A ransom which was paid.
‘After entering the house of their victim, they killed him before calling his daughter and threatened to do same if she does not pay a ransom of 3 million. We then continued investigations by dropping a sum of money in it.’ The brigade commander explained.
Despite the completion of the financial transaction, the daughter and security elements were surprised to reach home and find the lifeless body of Mr Noutsa. The suspects threatened to do same on other family members, if the Gendarmes come after them.

According to the commander of the Batcham gendarmerie brigade, Chief Warrant Officer Enguene Jean Baptiste, this is not their first crime.
They were incarcerated some time ago for murdering their uncle. The two brothers in crime were brought before the state prosecutor to answer for their act.
