Zaghouan: Progress in project to connect two schools to broadband Internet network

Minister of Communication Technologies, Nizar Ben Néji, inspected during a working visit to the delegation of Nadhour, Zaghouan governorate Tuesday, the progress of the work to connect two schools (Ibn Rochd middle school and the primary school of Henchir jdid) to broadband Internet.

This visit is part of the project to rehabilitate the education network, extend broadband connections, install internal networks and provide access to Internet services for educational institutions.

In a statement to TAP, the minister said this project, launched last August at an estimated cost of TND 132 million, is one of the ministry’s most important projects and is part of the Digital Strategy 2025.

This strategy aims in particular to achieve digital and financial integration, develop infrastructure and reduce the digital divide in order to achieve equal opportunities between regions.

In the same context, the Minister pointed out that almost one and a half million primary, secondary and higher education students in 3,307
schools will benefit from the services of this project.

He added that almost 956 sites have been completed and 2351 sites are at an advanced stage, noting that in the governorate of Zaghouan, 62 schools have been connected to the communication network and 33 schools are under construction. This will give all students access to online learning platforms.
