75th anniversary of Nakba: Tunisia calls for recovery of Palestinian people’s inalienable and legitimate rights

Tunisia on Monday reaffirmed, on the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, its constant position in support of the just Palestinian cause and called on the international community to stop the repeated violations perpetrated by the occupation.

Tunisia further calls for the recovery of the Palestinian people’s inalienable, legitimate and imprescriptible rights, first and foremost their right to establish an independent Palestinian State, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Tunisia underlines that May 15, 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, which commemorates the Palestinian people’s heroic struggles and huge sacrifices against the serious aggressions of the occupation forces, to defend their land, their identity and to claim their despoiled right.

This commemoration takes place against the backdrop of the persistence of the occupation forces in its colonial expansion plans, its continued policy of forced displacement and land confiscation, its desecration of Holy places and its deliberate massacres of defenceless civilians, in flagrant violation of international laws, conventions and standards.
