Tangiers: It was another busy day of Afcon, four games being played across Morocco, as teams in groups C and D looked to secure their spot in the knockout stages of the competition. In group D, Benin won their first game ever at an Afcon, beating Botswana 1-0. The battle of the big cats ended in gridlock as the Lions of Teranga drew against The Leopards of DR Congo. In group C, Uganda and Tanzania stayed level, whilst the Super Eagles and the Eagles of Carthage battled it out for the top spot in the standings. Nigeria absolutely dominated the first half, but Tunisia snapped back, to make it 3-2 at the final whistle.

Meanwhile, the match between Senegal and DR Congo, featuring the Lions of Teranga and The Leopards, ended in a draw, leaving both teams on equal footing.

In group C, the encounter between Uganda and Tanzania concluded without a winner, keeping both teams level in the group. The most thrilling match of the day was between Nigeria and Tunisia, where the Super Eagles secured a narrow 3-2 victory over the Eagles of Carthage. Nigeria’s first half performance was overwhelming, but Tunisia’s second half response kept the game competitive until the end.
