Ouagadougou: The Director General of Road Maintenance, Salfo Paceré, representing the Minister in charge of Infrastructure Adama Luc Sorgho, visited the rehabilitation site of the road on Friday August 9, 2024. Takaledougou in the commune of Banfora, on the RN7, the Banfora-Bobo axis.After reviewing the entire site, the General Director of Road Maintenance, Salfo Paceré, expressed his great satisfaction with the progress rate of the works, estimated at 30%, one week after the start of the works.According to the General Director of Road Maintenance, Salfo Paceré, the work consists of the reconstruction of a dike which gave way and the reconstitution of the embankment, followed by its protection.'We are at an execution rate of 30%, and the difficulties we encounter are mainly linked to rainfall. As soon as it rains, we have to suspend work. The second difficulty concerns borrowing sites,' he explained.The Director General reassured that solutions have already been found and that there are no longer any concerns about samples taken from these borrowing sites.'It was following a torrential rain that the road embankment gave way, leading to the erosion of the embankment.This led the minister in charge of infrastructure, Adama Luc Sorgho, to give us instructions to quickly find a company to take over the dike and rebuild the embankment, so that the road is not cut,' he said. added.'First, we found a company that is carrying out this work, and we are very satisfied with it. There is no interruption of traffic, it is alternating traffic. We ask road users to exercise caution, a lot of patience and to follow the instructions given by the officers responsible for regulating traffic,' he explained.According to Mr. Paceré, 'The objective sought in this reconstruction is to maintain traffic and facilitate the flow of products passing through this national road no. 7.It should be noted that there are priority axes: national roads, community roads and paved roads.
