Post: Bathi Chief’s Office Opens in Kijabe Ward, Enhancing Access to Government Services

Kijabe: Local residents in Kijabe Ward, Lari Sub-County, Kiambu County now have easier access to government services following the official opening of the new Bathi Chief's office, marking a significant milestone in bringing administrative services closer to the people.

According to Kenya News Agency, the facility was officially opened by Mburu Kahangara, Member of Parliament for Lari constituency, alongside local residents and other area chiefs from across the sub-county who attended the ceremony. Kahangara emphasized the importance of decentralizing government services to ensure residents can access essential administrative functions without traveling long distances.

"This new chief's office will serve as a vital link between the government and our people, ensuring that services like national ID applications, birth certificates, and other civic documents are readily available to our residents," he said.

The legislator noted that the facility represents the government's commitment to improving service delivery at the grassroots level, particularly in rural areas where access to administrative services has been a challenge.

Chief Njoroge, who will head the new facility, thanked the government for the modern office and pledged to serve the community diligently. "I am committed to ensuring efficient service delivery and maintaining the highest standards of integrity in all our operations," he said.

Local resident Beatrice Wanjiku, who attended the opening ceremony, expressed her satisfaction with the new facility, saying it would eliminate the need for long journeys to access government services. "For years, we have had to travel far to get basic services like affidavits and clearance certificates. This office will save us time and money," she said.

The opening of the Bathi Chief's office is part of a broader initiative to establish and upgrade administrative offices across Lari Sub-County. Other area chiefs from the sub-county were present at the ceremony, demonstrating the collaborative approach to improving service delivery in the region.

The new facility is expected to serve thousands of residents in Kijabe Ward and surrounding areas, providing a wide range of administrative services including security coordination, civil registration, and community development programs. The chief's office will also play a crucial role in maintaining peace and security in the area, serving as a coordination center for local security initiatives and community policing efforts.
