Pirates have abducted the Divisional Officer of Idabato subdivision, Ndian Division in the South West region.Ewane Roland was abducted around 2 am on Tuesday, security sources have confirmed.Pirate activities have been on the rise in this area, mostly from Nigeria.The Senior Divisional Officer of Ndian, Gilbert Guibai Baldena, confirmed the information in a confidential letter sent to the Consulate General of Nigeria in Buea.The administrative authority informed the Nigerian diplomatic house that the Divisional Officer was kidnapped alongside a staff of the Idabato Council, Etongo Ismaiel.The abductors were on flying boats and took the direction to Nigeria, he added.Cameroon is seeking support from their Nigerian counterparts, citing cross-border cooperation between the two countries.Source: Cameroon News Agency
