Bobo-dioulasso: After two months of training at the Bobo-Dioulasso 210 air base, thirty-six trainees belonging to the fourth class of Advanced Tactical Air Guides (GATA) made their exit on Thursday during the end-of-training ceremony. With their certificates in hand, these new air guides are now ready to join operations and put into practice what they learned during their training in the service of the Burkinabe nation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Lieutenant Colonel Rachid Bonkoungou stated that this training "will considerably improve the intervention of air vectors", emphasizing that the course was conducted "using our own resources, with local personnel and using language adapted to our realities". The commander of the Air Force's military training and instruction center, Theodore Kabre, assured that the next sessions will benefit from the same supervision to "continue to increase the effectiveness of troops on the ground."
The approach, as he noted, makes it possible to effectively respond to the specific needs of the Burkinabe air force. The class, which achieved an overall average of 16.38/20, was led by Lieutenant Ben Idriss Sanon, Major, with 18.68/20. A spokesperson for the trainees praised "a significant strengthening" of the troops' operational capabilities, particularly in terms of guidance for air strikes.
