Post: Burkina: an association wants to re-green the perimeters of traditional chiefdoms

Young Burkinabe gathered within the association "Mère Nature" launched, Saturday in Zitenga in the province of Oubritenga, the "Eco Royal" project with the aim of reforesting the courtyards and perimeters of traditional chiefdoms. In order to contribute to the fight against environmental degradation, the association "Mother Nature" has set itself the challenge of re-greening the royal courtyards and perimeters through its initiative called "Eco Royal".According to the president of the association Faiza Adiadion, "Planting a tree is not only an environmental action, but also an act of faith in the future. It is a gesture that connects the earth to man, man to future generations. It is a symbol of hope and renewal."This is why, she continued, the "Eco Royal" project was designed to contribute to the restoration of ecosystems while involving local communities in a sustainable approach. For Ms. Adiadion, the initiative is above all a community and solidarity project that brings together stakeholders around the common objective of reforesting land, restoring degraded areas and strengthening the resilience of territories.According to him, the municipality of Zitenga was chosen for the launch of the project because it symbolizes the perfect symbiosis between history, culture and nature. The Minister of State for Communication, represented by his mission manager Jean-Noël Bonkoungou, indicated that "Eco Royal", beyond reforestation, is an initiative that will raise awareness of environmental responsibility. In doing so, he invited people to consider this approach as a celebration of our environment and our common commitment to a green future. At the end of the project launch ceremony, the stakeholders took the opportunity to plant 8 tree seedlings around the royal courtyard of Zitenga, on behalf of the authorities.Source: Burkina Information Agency
