Post: Burkina/Compassion International: 800 Young People Ready to Reveal Their Talents at the National ‘My Talent’ Competitions

Ouagadougou: The NGO Compassion International Burkina Faso, in partnership with its partner evangelical churches, has launched the second edition of the final stages of the national "My Talent" competitions. This initiative will allow 800 young Burkinabe to showcase their talents in fields such as culture, sport, and music.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Issaka Kiemtor©, the national director of the NGO Compassion International Burkina Faso, emphasized the significance of this event during the official launch in Ouagadougou. He explained that the competition has been organized over a period of 24 months, with stages at the provincial, regional, and national levels, marking a crucial step in the holistic development of young people.

Mr. Kiemtor© stated that the various elimination phases of the competition have fostered a healthy emulation, providing a platform for expression and promoting the talents of more than 7,000 young people aged between 12 and 22. The disciplines covered include sports, artistic, oratory, culinary, cultural, and entrepreneurial fields.

Addressing the young finalists, he remarked, "Dear young finalists, today you are the face of hope, the voices of change, the role models of tomorrow." He emphasized that the progress made since the provincial phases demonstrates the youth's commitment to creativity and discipline. These final phases serve as a launchpad, encouraging young people to aim higher and become artisans of peace, development, and faith.

Doriane P©tambou, the finalists' spokesperson, expressed the understanding among the young participants that their potential can contribute significantly to serving the current generation. She extended gratitude to Compassion International for their efforts in the development of children and young people in Burkina Faso. "Thanks to the support of public and private institutions and partner churches, we were able to achieve milestones that many believed impossible," she said.

Anuyirtole Roland Somda, the Minister in charge of Youth, highlighted the 2nd edition of the national competitions "My Talent" as a reflection of a bold, talented youth committed to transforming the future. He celebrated the participants' commitment, passion, and audacity to create and believe in themselves. Minister Somda commended Compassion International Burkina Faso and its partner churches for their ongoing support for youth development.

He expressed his hope that each competitor would leave the event not only with new skills but also with inspiring encounters, renewed confidence, and a broader vision of their potential. Founded in 1952, the NGO Compassion International prioritizes the well-being of children as its main concern.
