Post: Burkina Faso Army Enhances Sanitation at Tingandogo Hospital in Patriotic Effort

Ouagadougou: The Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs, led by Brigadier General Celestin Simpore, organized a sanitation day at the Tingandogo University Hospital Center in Ouagadougou as part of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event saw the hospital undergo a significant cleanup. Brigadier General Simpore, along with his team and local residents, used gloves, machetes, rakes, dabas, and wheelbarrows to clear garbage and improve the hospital's environment. This effort aligns with Comrade President Captain Ibrahim Traore's call to maintain work environments conducive to development.

Brigadier General Simpore emphasized the importance of preserving tools used during the sanitation activities to reduce future maintenance costs. This marks the second such mobilization by army personnel in less than a year, following a similar event in December 2024.

The operation also received support from Faso Mebo, which is involved in road development and sanitation works at the hospital. The mobilization included the Defense and Security Forces, Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, the National Police, and local populations led by traditional chiefs.

Lin Somda, Director General of the hospital, expressed appreciation for the army's continued support, highlighting the positive impact on the hospital's environment and the well-being of patients and staff. He acknowledged the army's commitment to enhancing public health in addition to its defense duties.
