Post: Burkina/PUDTR: The Bagré Growth Pole with a 47.99 km asphalt road

The Emergency Territorial Development and Resilience Project (PUDTR), has completed a 47.99 km asphalt road in the Bagré Growth Pole, Center-East region. The visit to the infrastructure took place on July 31, 2024, during a press caravan.As part of strengthening the resilience of populations, the Emergency Territorial Development and Resilience Project (PUDTR), organized a press caravan from July 30 to August 1, 2024 , to present the construction of a paved road.This 47.99 km long infrastructure in the Bagré Growth Pole is located in the Center-East region, ie 35.85 km for the RR09, 9.21 km for the ramp 1 and 2.93 km for the ramp 2.The construction concerns three roads including national road no. 9 which connects Bagré to Dindéogo, slip road no. 1, Bagré village to Bagré town and slip road no. 2 Bagré pole to Bagré town.The two-layer road surfaces were designed with a reference speed of 100 km/h because the RR09 provides a connection to two national roads (RN16 and RN29) with the exception of crossing the irrigated area and major towns.Bagrepole, which is a semi-public company whose mission is the development and sustainable development of the Bagré growth pole, was responsible for the construction and asphalting of the road. According to the director of development and maintenance of infrastructure at Bagré pole, Augustin Tiendrébeogo, these infrastructures were carried out as part of the creation of the Bagré growth pole in addition to the developments on which the pole was built to make an economic zone.He indicated that the roads will facilitate the transport of products from the Growth Pole to the marketing areas.A road user, Pascal Ouédraogo, was delighted with the construction of the road which will facilitate traffic for users. He thanked the PUDTR for the quality of the work.The project also created related infrastructure including 14 km of fencing of schools and health centers which adjoin the road within which the project planted plants.The PUDTR also carried out 18 boreholes equipped with power pumps in the localities crossed for the needs of the road works.Bagrepole is a mixed economy company made up of public funds and private capital. Its mission is the development and sustainable development of the Bagré growth pole.It is responsible in particular for the planning, management and development of the Bagré Growth Pole: The intervention area of ????the growth pole covers an area of ????500,000 ha out of a developable potential of 30,000 haThe PUDTR inherited part of the residual activities of the Bagré Growth Pole Project which ended in November 2020. This is how the asphalting of the Diendiego-Bagré road, approximately 35 km long, and roads in the town of Bagré were transferred to the PUDTR at a request from the government.The cost of the work is estimated at 14.07 billion FCFA.The objective being to open up and modernize the essential infrastructure of the Bagré growth pole area and connect it to the national road network in order to improve the transport of agricultural prod ucts to marketing centers.As a reminder, the PUDTR intervenes in the regions of Boucle du Mouhoun (16 municipalities), East (09 municipalities) and Center-East with responsibility only for residual investments of the Bagré growth pole project.Source: Burkina Information Agency
