Call for Africa-United States residencies 2024

The call is aimed at creators, researchers and cultural professionals from the African continent. Candidates are invited to propose an original research project in the fields of arts and ideas, requiring an immersion stay in the United States.

They must be able to express themselves in fluent English and are required to associate a French partner with their project.

This partner can be a local French Institute or a Cooperation and Cultural Action Service of the country in which they reside.

5 candidates will be selected. The call is open until March 10, 2023.

The Villa Albertine is a cultural establishment of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, developed in partnership with the FACE Foundation, the Villa Albertine organizes several dozen exploration residencies per year throughout the United States. With a team of 80 people deployed in ten major cities (Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, New Orleans, San Francisco and Washington), Villa Albertine also offers support programs for cultural and creative industry professionals, support funds for artistic research and dissemination, as well as a magazine and numerous events, to constitute a global platform for supporting French cultural players in their challenges and projects Americans.
