Narok: Calls to shun tribalism and embrace a brotherhood spirit in the country dominated a church service held in Olokirikirai area in Narok North Sub County. The service was attended by senior political leaders led by Governor Patrick Ntutu, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa, President's Aide Farouk Kibet, and National Assembly Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro.
According to Kenya News Agency, Ichungwa urged residents to be cautious of politicians with ill-intentions who spread tribal messages aiming to divide the country. He emphasized the unifying symbol of 'Mt. Kenya,' which, despite not being named after any county, represents a mountain that unites all Kenyans. Ichungwa warned against using it to propagate divisive tribal narratives.
These sentiments were echoed by the presidential aide, who assured that the Kenya Kwanza administration remains committed to delivering quality services to improve the livelihoods of all citizens. He reiterated the administration's focus on enhancing the education sector, infrastructure, healthcare, support for small-scale traders, and worship centers for spiritual growth, underscoring their aim to unite all Kenyans and ensure national development and peace.
Governor Ntutu called on elected leaders to promote peace and cohesion in the country, warning that leaders spreading hate messages would not be tolerated in the county. Meanwhile, National Assembly Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro urged Kenyans to allow the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) to conduct independent investigations into the killing of Albert Ojwang. He condemned the demonstrations and property destruction following the incident, noting that the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) and police on duty had been arrested. Osoro promised that the government would ensure justice is served for the family of the late teacher.
