Ouagadougou: The Governor of the Cascades region, Florent Badabouè Bazié, presided over the traditional monthly raising of the national colors on Monday, August 12, 2024 at the Cascades Regional Council.According to the Governor of the Cascades region Florent Badabouè Bazié, This ceremony comes after the commemoration of August 4, 1984 and August 5, 1960, two dates that reflect the struggle undertaken by the Burkinabe people to free themselves from external domination, imperialism and assert themselves as a sovereign people assuming their choices for their full development.For him, independence is a conquest that requires a firm commitment to work and identity values. It also requires a high capacity to adapt to new contexts that are created and to the major challenges that arise in the progress of the Nation."The solemn ceremony of raising the national flag, which remains a strong symbol in the affirmation of the sovereignty of our people, seems to me very appropriate to renew my call to each and every one, to act in the direction of promoting patriotism and to carry out a deep introspection to perceive their role and responsibility for the realization of our common aspirations for freedom and security," he explained.The first person in charge of the region indicated that the efforts of the highest authorities, those of our fighting forces as well as patriots committed to the sovereignty of our country, have made it possible to achieve very appreciable results both in terms of the reconquest of the territory and in terms of socio-economics. He called on the active forces to constantly engage in this dynamic by engaging without calculation or reserve in the fight for the restoration of security, the improvement of the quality of life of Burkinabe and the affirmation of the pride of being Burkinabe.The end of July was marked by significant rainfall that caused damage in the region."I welcome the understanding of the populations and the efforts made to repair this damage.
