Post: CBK Governor Thugge Mourns Passing of Raila Odinga

Nairobi: The Governor, Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), Dr. Kamau Thugge, CBS, together with the Board, Management, and Staff of the Bank, have joined the nation in mourning the passing of the Right Honourable Raila Odinga.

According to Kenya News Agency, Governor Thugge described the death of Rt. Hon. Odinga as a moment of profound grief for the people of Kenya, noting that his contribution to the nation's history, economy, and democracy was immense. 'Hon. Odinga's impact on Kenya's development and governance will be remembered for generations. Throughout his long career, he shaped the affairs of the nation through his leadership, vision, and wise counsel,' said Governor Thugge.

He extended condolences to the family of the late Odinga, praying that they find comfort and strength during this difficult time. Raila Odinga, who passed away on Wednesday, was a veteran politician who served as Kenya's Prime Minister from 2008 to 2013. He also represented Langata Constituency in Parliament from 1992 to 2013 and served as the Leader of the Opposition from 2013.
