The residents of Meru and Tharaka Nithi burst into celebrations with optimism after Interior Cabinet Secretary professor Kithure Kindiki was nominated the country’s Deputy President following the impeachment of the former office holder Rigathi Gachagua.
The news of Kindiki’s elevation has been met with overwhelming jubilation in the region.
The nomination is viewed as a historical moment for the region, which since independence has never had such a rank.
‘We are very grateful for the president for nominating our son to be his principal assistant and the second in command. Speaking to KNA the Njuri Ncheke council of elders’ Chairman Linus Kathera expressed great satisfaction in the nomination of the interior CS citing that he is endowed with capability and he will serve Kenyans diligently as the new deputy.
The council retaliat
ed that his past track records of development speaks for him and even now he is ready to foster development for mwananchi in accordance with the law.
They maintained that Kindiki was a dedicated servant and great leader who will discharge his mandate as delegated by the president.
