WHO has announced the eradication of malaria in Egypt, calling the achievement "truly historic." Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus hailed the country's commitment, stressing that the victory marks the end of a millennia-old scourge.Egypt achieved this result through intensive vector control, prevention and awareness campaigns.To achieve this certification, a country must prove that it has been free of malaria transmission for at least three years.
