Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, held an extensive meeting with British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, James Cleverly, who is visiting the Kingdom for the second meeting of the Tunisia-UK Association Council. The meeting reviewed the excellent relations between the two countries and confirmed the common desire to further strengthen cooperation in all fields, according to a statement by the ministry. The two sides welcomed the holding of the second meeting of the Tunisia-UK Association Council and the completion of its working mechanisms on the same occasion. They stressed the importance of following up on the results of this meeting in order to further strengthen bilateral relations and bring them to the desired level. Minister Nabil Ammar stressed the importance of continuing the constructive and responsible dialogue between the two countries in order to reflect an understanding of Tunisia’s choices and to abandon visions and proposals that are considered to have failed. The meeting also addressed the issue of irregular migration, with the Tunisian FM reaffirming the commitment to tackle this phenomenon in a comprehensive manner. The latest developments in Gaza were also on the agenda, with the FM reiterating the principled and firm position on the Palestinian cause that was clearly stated during the emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers held in Cairo on October 11.
