Following criticism, Eto’o justifies actions

The President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o Fils, made an outing on Monday where he said the suspended goalkeeper at the Qatar World Cup, Andre Onana, has no problem with him.

“If we had a problem with my son, the next morning after the incident, he wouldn’t have come to my room and he knows,” Eto’ said to a group of people looking on.

The former African footballer of the year also fired back at critics who blamed him for the exit of Andre Onana, “Clarence Seedorf then came as the coach and those who were fighting against me said Andre Onana is in the team because Samuel Eto’o has brought Seedorf. Today, it is because Eto’o has problems with Onana.”

Eto’o did not however disclose if he has tried to bring Onana back.

On the issue with Njalla Quan

His outing comes days after his fourth vice president, Henry Njalla Quan Jr resigned from his position after an executive suspension. The owner of Njalla Quan Sports Academy said Eto’o is a dictator, a liar, and a divisive person.

Eto’s lashed out at clubs for not justifying the payment of their players. ‘Only six clubs did so’, he told the crowd watching him.

“Each club in the first division received FCFA 33 million. We asked you to justify the salaries of our players, people are incapable of doing so. And these are the same people who want to blackmail me.”

Last Friday, Njalla Quan Jr. played shocking voice recordings from a chat with Eto’o where the Fecafoot president is heard saying that he ( Njalla) should use iron first to rule over the South West region.

Also, Amateur Football Club leaders said Eto’o should step down because of poor management. The team captain in an interview told a reporter that Eto’o is surrounded by bad people, giving him bad advice to take decisions. Eto’o has not addressed that.

Samuel Eto’o has never commented on the outing of the captain of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
