Tunis: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, met President of the National People's Assembly of the Republic of Algeria, Ibrahim Boughali, who is on a working visit to Tunisia from July 26 to 29.The minister took the opportunity to highlight the historic fraternal relations between Tunisia and Algeria and the shared desire of the two countries' leaders to raise cooperation to the level of a comprehensive and fruitful strategic partnership, according to a press release issued by the ministry on Monday.The talks provided an opportunity to review progress in bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on the importance of strengthening joint coordination to combat terrorism and irregular migration.The need to develop common and practical visions for the development of the border areas between the two countries was also highlighted.The two sides also examined ways to strengthen the various aspects of economic cooperation, stressing the need to overcome the difficult ies hampering trade flows between the two countries.They underlined the importance of working to promote joint investment and cooperation in the energy and renewable energy sectors, based on a realistic approach that benefits both countries.The two sides also welcomed the convergence of the two countries' positions on various regional and international issues of common interest and reaffirmed Tunisia's and Algeria's firm and principled support for the just Palestinian cause.Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
