Post: Government Actively Incorporating Public Feedback, Says Kiunjuri

Nairobi: MP Mwangi Kiunjuri has assured Kenyans that the Kenya Kwanza government is continuously considering their feedback on programmes intended to enhance their lives, particularly the Social Health Authority (SHA) and University Funding. Speaking at Magutuni in Tharaka Nithi County during an empowerment programme, Kiunjuri urged patience as the government implements recommendations for improved service delivery.

According to Kenya News Agency, Kiunjuri highlighted that the government is actively listening to the public on various initiatives. He emphasized that feedback will be incorporated into plans to ensure optimal service. Some programmes being implemented are new, and the challenges faced are normal teething problems.

Kiunjuri encouraged Kenyans to register for SHA to benefit from convenient treatment. He noted that the government has reduced the SHA payment update requirement from one year to four months, making it more affordable. Additionally, the government is identifying 1.5 million vulnerable Kenyans whose SHA bills will be covered to ensure healthcare access.

On education, Kiunjuri stated that the government has responded to concerns about university fee payments by eliminating the student band grouping system. Students will now pay between Sh5,000 and Sh75,000, relieving them from the previous arrangement. The High Education Loans Board (HELB) will no longer group students in bands, and further interventions are planned to streamline the education system.
