The Government of Cameroon says it condemns those described as instigators of uprisings against public institutions.
In a 2-page outing on Thursday July 18, Government spokesperson, Rene Emmanuel Sadi in citing the proliferation of media organs and the multiplicity of political parties says the country can today boast of political improvements after decades of political experimentation and maturation.
According to the government spokesperson, Cameroonians can criticize the actions of the government and make their voices heard but he threatened hat it should not give the latitude for people to disrespect public institutions especially political leaders and activists.
‘The government of the Republic hereby strongly condemns and goes against abusive language used with impunity by some compatriots in the name of democracy’ the Communication Minister Rene Emmanuel Sadi, emphasized.
The statement encouraged Cameroonians to rely on the sense of responsibility in exercising his or her right to freedom of expressi
on which will neither simplify the Republican laws nor trample fundamental societal values.
This outing comes just 2 days after the SDO for Mfoundi, Djikdent Emmanuel Mariel, issued an acces ban threat in his area to those who incite uprisings or trample against public institutions, or media guests who might be at the origin of misplaced proposals against the government.
The decision from the administrative authority had sparked outrage all over the National territory.
Observers hold that the government is doing everything possible stop dissenting parties prior to the 2025 presidential elections.
