Kisumu: Green Wells Energy Limited has launched a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) refilling plant in Kisumu County to enhance access to clean energy in the area. The plant, situated along Sabuni Road in Kisumu city, aims to provide a safer and cost-effective alternative to conventional energy sources, benefiting households, businesses, and industries in Kisumu and its surroundings.
According to Kenya News Agency, Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang Nyong’o highlighted during the launch that the plant is expected to significantly improve energy access in the region while aiding in the reduction of environmental degradation. Green Wells Energy’s expanding presence in Kisumu, including the Awasi quarry project and two petrol stations, underscores the company’s commitment to advancing industrialization in the city.
The Governor emphasized that the investment in the modern LPG refilling plant aligns with a shared vision for a sustainable environment, noting that LPG is a cleaner, safer, and more economical fuel source. The facility is projected to bring substantial benefits to the community, enhancing daily livelihoods across Kisumu County and beyond.
Governor Nyong’o commended Green Wells Energy for their initiative, recognizing their role in job creation and economic strengthening in Kisumu. He reiterated the county government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment to attract further investments.
The Governor assured both local and international investors of Kisumu’s readiness for business investments, emphasizing the city’s reorganization efforts to market it as a business hub. He urged investors to capitalize on the opportunities present in the area.
