HTTC Buea to Go Operational Soon After Installation of Key Staff.


BUEA: Admissions will soon begin at the newly created Higher Teachers Training College (HTTC) Buea, following an installation of appointed academic and other administrative staff of the institution which is under the University of Buea. They were installed into their respective functions on November 1, 2024.

According to Cameroon News Agency, the installed staff included the deputy director, head of studies, heads of division, and heads of department for the newly created HTTC Buea. These appointments, made by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, were described by the University of Buea Vice Chancellor as being based on merit and hard work.

The Vice Chancellor highlighted that many of the appointed individuals gained experience at HTTTC Kumba. He further announced that the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, will soon give the go-ahead for admissions to commence.

Prof Ngomo Horace emphasized the importance of the newly appointed staff in shaping the institution’s future. He urg
ed them to be instrumental in developing strategies, supporting staff, and fostering an environment of intellectual vigor. He also highlighted the stakes involved and commended their focus on result-oriented work.

The Vice Chancellor stressed the necessity of leadership with clarity, purpose, and compassion, urging the new staff to meet the evolving needs of both staff and students. HTTC Buea was established by presidential decree No.2024/166 on May 24, 2024.

Dr. Stephen Ndode, the newly installed head of Division-Business Unit at the office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Research and Cooperation with the Business World, expressed his gratitude for the appointment. He described it as a privilege to rise through the ranks as a graduate of the same institution.

As the initial celebrations of the installation subside, the newly appointed officials are now faced with the task of addressing pressing issues with innovation, as the 2024/2025 academic year has just commenced.
