Interior Minister Kamel Feki inspected during a working visit in Gafsa governorate the road checkpoints and mobile patrols in the Oum El Arayes delegation.
He further took cognisance of the theoretical and practical exercises carried out to test these units’ capacities to protect the Tunisian borders and counter the dangers of terrorism and smuggling.
The minister commended in this regard, the efforts exerted by the various units in position to ensure the protection of the borders and combat smuggling, terrorism and irregular migration.
The security units need support, given the difficult situation the country i going through, he indicated.
The efforts exerted by the security and military units are aimed at reassuring Tunisian society and other units working in cities and large towns, pointing out that the Interior Ministry had launched a fortnight ago a round of control visits to security units in several governorates as part of control operations in order to assess their capacity to combat smuggling and irregular migration.
