Eliye: Officials from the Department of Lands, the Office of the County Attorney, and the Alternative Justice System (AJS) conducted a fact-finding mission in Eliye to address concerns raised by the community over a disputed piece of land. The exercise brought together key county stakeholders who engaged the residents to listen to their grievances and collect first-hand information.
According to Kenya News Agency, during the visit, the team confirmed land beacons and carried out size measurements of the disputed area, which has been at the center of conflict with the community. These findings will help guide the way forward in resolving the matter.
Officials assured the residents that their concerns will be handled fairly, noting that the county government is committed to finding a just and lasting solution. "This fact-finding visit is an important step in ensuring that decisions are informed by evidence and community voices," said Sheikh Yusuf Aremon, AJS Chair.
