Kenya will receive support from Denmark to strengthen its maritime sector, according to Geoffrey Kaituko, Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Mines, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs. The Danish Maritime Authority will work with the Kenya Maritime Authority to improve services and inspections, while training ship inspectors and surveyors. The partnership also aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with a target of 5% to zero by 2050. Finally, ten Kenyan cadets will receive 12 months of maritime training aboard Maersk vessels each year.Source: Africa News Agency
