Bomet: Bomet Branch Executive Secretary of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), Mr Desmond Langat, has appealed to members of the public to allow candidates and officials overseeing the forthcoming national examinations to perform their duties peacefully for the sake of good results.
According to Kenya News Agency, Mr Langat urged security teams manning examination centers to work tirelessly to safeguard not only the candidates but also examination materials from any form of interference or criminal activity.
The 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination began this week and will be followed by the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).
Mr Langat commended the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) for ensuring a transparent process after conducting successful rehearsals last Friday. He described the national examinations as a transformative milestone for the candidates and called for concerted efforts from all education stakeholders to provide a free and fair environment for learners.
He thanked teachers for diligently preparing students throughout their education journey, saying it was now time for them to wait for the results of their efforts.
According to KNEC, 996,078 candidates are sitting for the KCSE exams, while 1,298,089 learners will take the KPSEA and 1,130,669 will sit for the KJSEA examinations next week.
